Yes, I am Basil, guardian of the bird room! I patrol the windows and make sure that everyone knows that the dangerous pedestrians, bicycle, and wild turkeys are near. I know danger since I was taken into a shelter missing my tail feathers (had to be a cat). Now that I`m almost 5, I am strong and ready to defend against all comers.

When I`m not canoodlng with Liza, the pretty pearl girl I live with, you`ll also find me chowing down on Nutrian cakes and fresh greens. I also love to decimate shreddable palm leaf and soft balsa toys. Even regular old newspaper is good too. That is so satisfying to make a mess!

If you`re approved to adopt, please email my agent (oops, coordinator!) for more information on how to bring me and Liza to your home!

You can see more of Liza and I in this video from Mickaboo`s March virtual adoption fair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJinqU22bIM

In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
