Hi, I`m Papaya. I was surrendered with my gal Coconut to a local shelter. Mickaboo took us in and we`re in a happy home now! I am a singer/warbler and can be bribed with millet to step up (after getting used to my new surroundings). I love fresh greens and will yell if I thinks it`s bedtime and my foster mom hasn`t covered our cage yet. I like to sit on top of the cage and I enjoy the Boing in the cage. I eat AviCakes from the vet and I am a hungry boy!. Wouldn`t I make a great addition to your flock?
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
