Hi, I`m Maclin, a little guy budgie who was rescued in March of 2020 from an aviary situation with my guy pals when our owner could no longer care for us. I have come to be more at ease indoors with family noises and people moving around. I don`t like being held, but will hop on a hand for a short while to eat a treat. I am healthy and free of AGY (a common budgie ailment) as of September 2021. I`m a little chubby so my foster parents are cutting back on the seed I eat and spraying me a few times a week. Please, don`t you think I would be a sweet addition to your flock?
You can see a recent video of me with my roommate Madden from Mickaboo`s adoption fair here.
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
