Hi there! I`m Lucy, a sweet little budgie who came to Mickaboo in August 2021 via the Santa Cruz shelter. My foster mom calls me "The Referee" because I make sure to keep my cage mates in line. My favorite cage mate is Jane. I groom her every day and make sure to get all her pin feathers for her. It would be great if we could find our forever home together.

I really love mirrors and playing with the beads on them. I also like my swing and mirrored disco ball. I`ve been practicing my tight rope walking because we have two ropes side by side in our cage; I put one foot on each rope and walk back and forth. I have to admit it`s pretty fun and funny!

I`m good at eating my pellets and love my Nutri-An cakes. Parsley, cilantro, and fennel make great, yummy toys! And of course, I love millet too. I`m still not hand tame but my foster mom can put her hand in the cage and I don`t get scared anymore. If you`ll be my forever home, I know I`ll make you laugh with all my antics!

Wouldn`t Jane and I be a good fit for YOUR forever home? Thank you for thinking of me/us!

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
