Hi, there. I`m Bean, a budgie that came to Mickaboo from the Sacramento shelter in August 2021. Saw the vet and they found cladosporium so I`m currently on 2 weeks of meds to get me healthy.

I am a skittish guy who has clearly had very little human contact. I freak out if my foster parent walks fast past my cage or if something large moves near me. I seem to do okay with a quiet location and only a single human around. I might improve with attention and patience and millet, or I might be a good fit if you`re looking to add to your aviary!

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
