Hi, I`m Del on the left, a surrendered baby girl budgie who came to Mickaboo from the Santa Cruz shelter in December 2021.

My foster parent says I am a sweet girl who could be tame in no time. I`m friendly and not afraid of hands coming close and I even let those big hands touch my head briefly. I don`t step up yet but I`m nearly there! I am thriving on Avi-cakes and fresh veggies. I am social & enjoy music.

When Punkin came in to foster with me, my life changed for the better! We are a female pair who would love to stay together if we can. Can you help us out? Wouldn`t it be fun to tame a couple of baby girl budgies?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
