Jackson (or Jack for short) was surrendered to Mickaboo when his mom passed away. Jack was much loved and lived in a sunroom/aviary attached to the house. He lived there with his friend Casper the sulfur-crested cockatoo. His foster mom is just getting to know him. She is taking him to the vet soon for a much-needed nail trim.

Notes from his foster mom: When I sat on the couch for some TV time, Jack hopped to the floor and waddled over to the couch. He climbed up and inspected details of the cushions looking very pleased with his surroundings. I left the room for a few minutes and when I returned, he had completely eviscerated a bag of raisins that I had been snacking on. Jack is a talented singer. I am not sure what song he sings but it is very entertaining. He also barks like a dog and makes a fire engine sound.

When I played a video of Kenny Loggins performing a song that I love Jack joined in and sang along with most of the tune. Sooooo cute, entertaining and amazing! What a wonderful bird he is.

Once he ventured into my bedroom and chewed on my yoga mat, so I keep the door to that room closed. On Tuesday while I moved his cage, he was loose in the living room. When his cage was ready, I went looking for him and realized I had left the bedroom door open. I followed his peeping sounds (like a metal detector, he beeps as he explores) into the bedroom and found him in a corner. When I called his name, he looked up and said “uh oh!” Wow, perfect use for that word! What a smart boy. He knew he had gotten caught being naughty. It, was so funny I couldn’t be mad at him.
