Oz

Bird ID: 7289
Species: Parakeet
Sex: Male
Sub-Species: Standard Budgie
Adopted on 2022-08-17

Hi, I`m Oz, a guy budgie who came to Mickaboo from an aviary rescue in March 2022. The entire rescue flock went immediately to the vet due to some apparent beak & cere issues. Liver functions tested normal, so any issues are probably due to a lifetime seed-only diet. I do need daily misting to help clean my nose and sinuses.

I like to sit on the swing in my cage. I also like romaine lettuce hung from the side of the cage, and will munch it til it is mostly all gone!

Could you find it in your heart to give me a forever home? I`d appreciate it!
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
