Back in June, I featured a story arc from the comic Diamond Lil which I thought at the time was a one-shot. It turns out that was the introduction of a new character in the strip. So now I am going backwards through the archives to find strips featuring Stupid the Bird. Yes, that's his name, and this strip from September 29, 2014 shows why:
The ongoing parade of toons about birds pooping on freshly washed cars continues with this Bizarro from September 23, 2011.
It is very reminiscent of a Non Sequitur strip that appeared about 3½ years later and was featured here about two months ago.
Loose Parts from October 1, 2013. At least that bird will have a career as a avian cannonball (like a human cannonball, but feathered) to fall back on.
WuMo from November 27, 2014. I love these strips that take human situations and adapt them successfully to avian ones.
Just when we thought that cliché had worn out its welcome ...
Another variation on the old "pirate with parrot on shoulder" theme crosses into a lament usually heard by stand-up comics, from Strange Brew of June 10, 2014:
Ever have a song get stuck in your head? Phillipe has the same problem in this Mutts strip from May 22, 2013:
Bizarro from June 6, 2013 gives us a joke that requires at least a few seconds of thought. Once you get the reference, though, it's a very funny panel.
Cheezburger from September 15, 2013 deals with that famous candy commercial, yet again:
Vince the budgie tries to use human technology to clean his cage, with predictably disastrous results, in this final installment.
I have two more of Scott's black-and-white "Noodles" in which he adapts the Vince drawing to an outdoors bird. I'll post those sometime in the future.
