And now, a Halloween-themed Diamond Lil from one year ago today, featuring Stupid the Bird taking a selfie with a very unusual jack o'lantern.
The first of two Six Chix strips we'll feature this week (the second will be on Friday) is from October 23, 2012. Pretty much self-explanatory, even five years later:
WuMo from October 18 of last year. Words fail me.
And the final payoff of Snoopy vs. migrating birds, from today's Peanuts in 1965:
A note about the bird and why it is larger and blue, as opposed to the familiar character Woodstock: This strip appeared a little over three months before the smaller, yellow bird made his first appearance (February 4, 1966). It wasn't until June 22, 1970 that he officially got his name.
Part two of Snoopy and the migrating birds, from Peanuts, today in 1965:
And now through week's end, a bonus "blast from the past" ... a three-part story arc on migration from Peanuts, October 18, 1965:
We continue our run of migration-themed toons with this Non Sequitur from one year ago today:
Patrick McDonnell did an epilog of sorts to the migration story arc in the Sunday edition of Mutts the day after that arc ended ... so, from one year ago today:
The concluding installment of the "Philippe flies south" story arc from Mutts, last year ... except he's not the one who goes:
Mutts and migration, part four, from last year. Which way is south again?
