Hi! I`m Larimar, a female budgie who came to Mickaboo in from the Sacramento shelter with my pal Stormy in February 2022. I am a stunning beauty with feathers the color of a rare gemstone found only on the island of Hispaniola. My bonded friend, Stormy, and I came to Mickaboo when our dear, elderly person passed away. We have settled into our foster home, where we snuggle and preen each other, play with our toys, and chase each other around. We enjoy looking out the patio window at the big garden, watching wild birds and our foster mom`s chickens. We are calm budgies, not at all flustered by the two big pet dogs or the three-legged kitty cat who hangs around and watches our cage like TV from across the room.
We are crossing our feathers that we will be adopted together. Please could you find it in your heart to take us into your forever home?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
